Having your wedding celebration in Sedona is really amazing. I know, I know. You’ve probably heard that a lot. But it really is true. Sedona weddings are really unique and the feeling and energy of the red rocks is one of a kind.
Kennedy and JD’s wedding day in Flagstaff started at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church and we made our way up the mountain for some rad forest photos. But, we also stopped downtown to make some cool portraits before ending up at the High Country Conference Center for their reception
It’s a very one-of-a-kind experience eloping up high on the red rocks in Sedona. And to have your wedding ceremony take place as the sun is peeking over the tops of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, creating a fantastic sunrise, is taking the experience up a big notch.
If you’re reading this, you probably recently got engaged. Congratulations! Time to start planning. There are so many options for wedding venues in Flagstaff. One of my favorites in town is Serendipity.
When it comes to getting married in Arizona (or anywhere for that matter), there are so many options for where and how to go about it. Jason and Angela chose an autumn elopement alongside Oak Creek on the West Fork trail near Sedona and it was intimate and beautiful.
Sometimes everything just falls into place and you get married as the sun rises at the Grand Canyon. Not really! Every wedding takes specific planning. Even an elopement. And Raquel and Jarrod took that to heart!
In 2021, I was fortunate to once again photograph a whole bunch of weddings, elopements and engagements in places like the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff, Horseshoe Bend, Tucson, the Phoenix area and the wine country in Northern California.
These two are having a baby! Pretty exciting stuff! So, they planned a little babymoon to Sedona and, while they were there, fit in a maternity shoot on the red rocks at Bell Rock.
Who says photo shoots are awkward? Almost everyone! But they really don’t have to be. They should be fun! Especially if you’re exploring the red rock vistas of Sedona, Arizona.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it many times more, proposing at the Grand Canyon is always pretty epic. And I’m not using that word lightly. Asking someone to marry you is a pretty big deal. But when you propose at the edge of the Canyon the moment sure does seem to take on even more importance.
Lynsey and John’s Sedona engagement session was scheduled for the day before Valentine’s day. We planned for a sunset session up on the the red rocks at Yavapai Overlook. But the weather wasn’t going to cooperate. Rain, thunder and lightning moved in and it just wasn’t going to work out. So we rescheduled to the next day and planned to meet before the sun came up so they could catch their plane back to New Jersey later that evening. This is one of those times when everything worked out despite a few obstacles.
Where should you propose to your favorite person of all time? Where do you ask someone to marry you? It’s a personal decision. Where ever you decide to propose, one option is to have a photographer on hand to document the momentous occasion.
The George family met me down in Oak Creek Canyon just north of Sedona for a family photography session towards the end of fall. Many of the trees in the canyon had already lost their leaves, but I know a good spot for late season fall colors.
Kimberly and Joe eloped at the Grand Canyon back in March before the pandemic changed everything. As Covid continues to make life difficult, small elopements and micro-weddings also continue to make a lot of sense.
Like so many couples, Josh and Alyssa had to reschedule their wedding celebration due to Covid 19. But they still wanted to get married! So they put together a small micro wedding outdoors with their immediate family at Lost Dutchman State Park
Seva surprised Apoorva and proposed to her as the sun rose just above the rim of the Grand Canyon on a brisk morning about a week before Christmas. Not a bad way to ask your soulmate to get married!
I met up with the Ahmad family while they were on vacation in Sedona, Arizona for a family photography session. Why not commemorate an epic trip to Sedona with some photographs that capture the love you share with each other?
Weddings in the forest around Flagstaff are really some of my favorites. And Lena and Jimmy’s wedding at the Arizona Nordic Village was no exception.
If you’re looking to get married in Flagstaff, you have some fantastic venue options. One of the best wedding venue options is the Gardens at Viola’s. I love it for a number of reasons.
Sophia and Greg traveled out from Chicago for a Sedona engagement photo session just before the pandemic became the new normal. Good timing!
Heidi and Dan decided on a Grand Canyon elopement back in October. It was a beautiful, crisp autumn day. Perfect for a small wedding ceremony.
Like so many couples this year, Camden and Ashtyn planned to get married and celebrate with all the people that matter the most to them. But that’s not how this year played out. So they had an intimate wedding in Tucson with their closest family. And it was beautiful.
Having family photos taken is such a great idea. It’s documenting another year in the life. Your life as a family. I highly recommend it!
The Fall season in Flagstaff is always a beautiful time of year. It’s also a great time to have a family photography session in the forest.
Sedona’s incredible red rock backdrops are perfect for family photography sessions any time of year. You can’t beat the incredible vistas!
When you decide on a Grand Canyon elopement in the winter months, you have to be prepared for any kind of weather. Cindy and Adam experienced a little bit of everything - wind, snow and a beautiful sunset!
When it comes to wedding, couples and family photography, you want a photographer who is comfortable using natural light and flash photography so you get the best photos possible.
Abbey and Jeremy’s summer wedding had to be postponed due to Covid. What a bummer. But they ended up planning a beautiful fall, forest elopement in Flagstaff in the fall. Win!
Catherine and Stephen’s simple, intimate Sedona elopement was so beautiful. Yavapai Point Overlook, just around the corner from Bell Rock in Sedona is the perfect location for a small wedding ceremony.
Daniela and Oscar met me at Buffalo Park for their Flagstaff engagement photography session back when there was still snow on the ground! But it was a beautiful, sunny day - like autumn without the leaves on the trees.
