It’s a very one-of-a-kind experience eloping up high on the red rocks in Sedona. And to have your wedding ceremony take place as the sun is peeking over the tops of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, creating a fantastic sunrise, is taking the experience up a big notch. Rafael and Laura met me, and the lovely Reverend Shanandoah Sterling, bright and early in the parking lot at Courthouse Overlook. We took aa short walk up onto the red rocks below Bell rock and Rafael and Laura began to get ready for their ceremony. Laura found her dress second hand and, as luck would have it, when she tried it on, it fit perfectly. No need for alterations. Awesome!
Once we were all situated, Shanandoah began the ceremony. It was beautiful. Rituals, hand written vows, strong emotions, laughter, crying, crystal clear morning air, a warm glow from the rising sun. I’m not kidding you, it was perfect.
After their first kiss, the two signed their license and then it was time for cake! We all enjoyed a slice of gluten free cheese cake. It was pretty, pretty good.
We then spent the next hour exploring Bell Rock and making some super fun portraits. We had the rock to ourselves. Something the early morning hour totally helped with. To wrap up the morning, Rafael and Laura had a first dance and then a personal dance party with an iPhone providing the music. It was a perfect ending to a beautiful elopement.
Enjoy!
