Family photo session are such a fun and important way to capture everyday moments and preserve your unique memories. I’m always looking to capture candid moments that feel relaxed and totally you. Photo sessions should be fun! I work hard to make my sessions feel super comfortable. While we will work together to create beautifully posed, editorial moments, I believe the in-between, natural - sometimes a little chaotic - moments are really fun as well. And all of these moments together create a gallery of fun family photos you can enjoy forever.
Step 1. Let’s Talk
I like to connect for a few minutes before our shoot so we can get to know each other just a little bit. We can talk about the kind of session you’re looking for and pick the right location for our shoot.
Step 2. Let’s get you on my schedule
Once we’ve decided we are a good match, I’ll reserve your date on my calendar and take a retainer fee. And then we’re all set. Quick and easy!
Step 3. Plan your outfit choices
What to wear!? It can feel like a difficult task to coordinate your family’s wardrobe for your shoot. But I find it’s best not to over think it. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and your kids feel comfortable in. You don’t have to match either. Primary colors always pop in front of the camera. Prints are OK as well as long as you don’t put to many together.
Family Photography Packages
Every family is unique, so I’ve got a couple options for how we plan and go about your family session.
Outdoor Family Session: $475
The great outdoors is always a great place for your family session. We’ll choose a location and go do a little exploring. Have some favorite spots in a downtown location? Want to explore some back alleys and get an urban feel? Or, should we head out into the forest or explore the coast? Sessions last 1 hour. We end up with 40-50 finished, edited images. They go in a personal online gallery with a link to download all the high resolution images.
In-Home Lifestyle Family Shoot: $875
This package is for folks who want to document how they spend time around their home doing, well, family stuff. It’s a fun way to get a day-in-the-life feel to your family photos. Sessions are 2 hours, which gives us enough time to get comfortable. We end up with 90-100 finished, edited images. They go in a personal online gallery with a link to download all the high resolution images.
Custom Designed, Lay Flat Family Session books
Printing your photos is important! 10x10 leather bound, lay flat albums start at $400.
Should you Print your photos? Short answer: yes!
Will it cost a ton? No. I keep printing really affordable. Your online gallery is connected to a fantastic print lab. It’s really easy to order prints through your gallery and 4x6 prints cost less than printing at Walgreens. But you’re getting quality printing. Why do I do it this way? Because they’re your photos.
