Intimate elopements in the forest surrounding Flagstaff are really beautiful. This one was no different. But it was also pretty unique. Because of some very unavoidable life events, Kellie and Shann opted for a small city hall ceremony at their home in Texas some months earlier. But it wasn’t the ceremony they had always wanted. They both have ties to the Flagstaff and Grand Canyon area so when they realized they now had the time for a second ceremony that looked and felt how they had originally envisioned it, they flew out and eloped. It was super intimate. No need for an officiant. They were technically already married. So after getting ready at Little America Hotel complete with a beautiful first look on the hotel grounds, we headed into the forest. After walking out to a beautiful spot. The two said private vows to each other. They requested some space. So I hung back. Not a problem. They said their vows and exchanged rings. Quietly. It was still. And peaceful. After that we took some time to make some beautiful portraits in the trees and with the San Francisco peaks as a backdrop. Such a beautiful and remarkable afternoon.
As a side note: Christina with Northern Arizona Glam Squad did a beautiful job with hair and makeup. As always. She also helped Kellie get into her wedding dress because she was by herself. Above and beyond. Awesome.
